Her chest hurts, he's there to make it better.

She is fatigued and tired, he's on the bed beside her, comforting her,
Only getting up to fulfill another of her wishes.
She is sore and barely feels like walking, he's there to carry her.
She is stiff and aching, he's there to massage every muscle until she's comfortable.

She is uncomfortable, he's there with pillows enough to float her on air.
She complains, and the whole time he's there by her side
Tending to her every need and fancy as a jeweler tends a precious jewel.
Indeed, a jewel within a jewel, as the life within her grows.
Caring for her with such attention and love,
That even with what she must be going through
She can't help but smile. As the life within her grows and becomes restless,
He's there feeling every kick as though it was him carrying it.
When at last it comes, he's there to drive her,
Holding her hand every second there.

She comes to her room, he's there taking her,
Making sure all her needs are met.
Her pains tighten, strengthen, he's there comforting her.
The final moments, he's there encouraging her, at the same time wishing
He could take her pain onto himself, so she needn't feel any pain.
She gives the final push, he's there as the new life takes her first breaths
Moving to give it to her so she may have the joy of being the first it sees.

In life there is nothing free, gain without loss,
Joy without sadness, life without pain
But in the end, it is found that some things are worth the sacrifice.

He'll always be there to help her through it all.
